Epic Property Services: Part of a Critical Sector
In response to the rapid spread of COVID-19, on March 23, 2020 Minnesota Governor Tim Walz issued Executive Order 20-20 requiring individuals to stay at home, unless the individual is part of a critical sector. The order identifies the following as a critical sector:
Real Estate Transactions. This category is limited to workers who facilitate and finance real estate transactions and real estate services, including appraisers and title services.
Epic Property Services provides necessary inspection and assessment searches to title companies, which are required for the closure and financing of all real estate transactions.
A Note from Epic Property Services Co-founder Scott Simonett:
I wanted to update everyone as to how we are proceeding at Epic Property Services. All employees have the ability to work from home and complete their daily tasks.
Our procedure includes receiving the orders in multiple fashions, logging them in, tasking them either to setups if they are plats or to the assessor if they are assessments.
Once the plat is tasked to setups, it is then sent to the inspector All orders received by 5:00 p.m. have been set up and completed even during these high volume days. The inspector then goes to the home and continues to introduce themselves many times through a closed door. If there is any hesitance on the consumer’s end, they are instructed to leave the property immediately and note the ROP accordingly. Once the inspection is completed, they are scanned back to Epic and tasked to drafting. The drafting dept then completes and sends back to the customer.
The assessment is tasked to a particular assessor and run through and searched in our proprietary “pending database” along with the county websites. Once complete, it is tasked and sent back to the customer. All of which can be completed remotely.
There is a very small percentage of cities which have not shared their information and, if this is the case, the search will be noted accordingly.
There should be no disruption of service with any of our products unless something unforeseen should occur.
